My fondest Myst-related memory is the time I accidentally met Rand Miller. He was keeping the queue in order for when Cyan was showing off Obduction in VR at PAX East back in 2015 or 2016... and absolutely nobody recognized him.
They were allowing folks to take something like 20 minutes in VR each, and only had four headsets, so the line was taking forever. We got in line, and about thirty seconds in, I was like "wait a minute, that guy sounds like Achenar." And then I was like "wait a minute, that's Rand fucking Miller."
He stood and talked to me and my partner about the early Myst games for over an hour while we waited in line. That's not only a fond Myst-related memory, but probably one of my fondest memories of all time.
NO WAY! You're on Cohost? I freaking love all your art (especially the Myst & In The Valley Of The Gods stuff).
yeah only recently! still not quite sure how I'm gonna be using it yet, but someone explicitly said that this piece would be a good fit for the cohost crowd :D
