I enjoy murder mystery VNs, platformers, metroidvanias, rpgs, splatoon, ffxiv, monster hunter, mlp, yugioh (anime/manga and the card collection aspect), animation, manga, sewing, modding controllers, collecting controllers, etc.
Currently trying to get into fighting games
Y'know, I've always been kind of taken aback when people say they don't bother with debuggers and just put a million print statements everywhere. But after being forced to use a scripting language for several years without a debugger, having seen the other side and learned to be less reliant on modern IDE conveniences, I think I can safely say:
I get that debuggers are confusing at the start and when you already know how print() works it seems easier, but as soon as I started actually using a debugger I realised I'd been paddling upstream with a tennis racket
My habit: adding the print statement and putting the breakpoint on it specifically
if this is about idtech4, dhewm3 has a script debugger nowadays :)

no idea what dhewm3 version your code is based on (script debugger was added in 1.5.2 in June 2022), but there are lots of other features you might be interested in (including gamepad support, based on quadrilateral cowboy's, but greatly enhanced) :)

And, in case this is useful for you, I'm currently working on integrating ImGui - at least for now I wanna use it to make a better settings menu, but in the future it could also be used for tools and such (like RBDoom3BFG does).
