e finish our first saga with a lot of lamentations and poorly interpreted dreams. Truly everyone just staring down their fates as characters in a tragic legend and reacting in a variety of very human but conflicting ways. Brynhildr is despondent, Sigurðr has begun pleading to find a way to fix things, Gunnarr and Högni are in full denial, and Guðrún basically loses everyone she ever cared about. Also Odin's there for one last time.
Em and Niamh are also settling into other idly chat, so enjoy some anime discussion around Gundam, Ghost in the Shell, and Kino's Journey, I guess.
We're taking next week off but we'll see you all again for the entirety of Hrafnkels saga Freysgoða! It's short, just read the whole thing! We're reading the translation by Terry Gunnell published in the Penguin Classics tome The Sagas of the Icelanders found wherever fine books are sold and/or downloaded.
