I do a bunch of podcasts!

Rick and I's time with Hunter x Hunter comes to its close... for now. We read volumes 35-38 and the ten as yet uncollected chapters and had ourselves a ball. I won't say much more than that out of caution for spoiling any readers, but I'll say that this whole journey has been excellent. Togashi is truly one of the greats, and I'm glad we have covered this series for the show.

As ever with these later volumes of Hunter x Hunter, this episode is exclusive to our $5 patrons! I'd like to say a massive thank you for everyone who has jumped into subscribing to us on patreon over our time reading Hunter x Hunter, and I hope even more folks do now that we've wrapped up on this series.

Up next we have some free episodes planned to balance out the long stretch of patron ones. Next week we will be talking about Paul Auster's City of Glass by David Mazzuchelli and Paul Karasik. I'll spoil this for you right now: that book is fucking great. After that, we have a couple guest episodes in the works that I'm very excited for.

Last but not least, hit the read more to see some of the pages and images and other comics we mentioned in this episode. Do that if you want forbidden Yoda art

Here I'll just share 1 of many Tetsuo Hara inspired pages from Keith Giffen's time on Justice in the 80s. This is Kenshiro coded to me to me to me.
From Justice #10, penciled by Keith Giffen

From Shotaro Ishinomori's Sabu and Ichi

The cover to The Uncanny X-Men 129

Look at this fucking incredible illustration of Flash Gordon by Al Williamson. Oh my word.

And the forbidden Yoda. The Yoda big mouse doesn't want you to see.

Anyway, you should go read A Frog in the Fall

And now... some of that good good Hunter x Hunter

And because we can't help ourselves, we did talk a little bit about Daredevil Born Again at the end
