Hey there true believer! We've been pretty busy at Export Audio HQ this week, and if I may say so, we've put out a lot of banger episodes. Click the read more to get the run down on all that, but the important part is that if you subscribe to the patreon by going to exportaud.io you'll get all of this in that there RSS feed.
On Monday, Gotham City Limits returned from a few weeks off! Em and I talk about yet another turbo horny episode of Batman: The Animated Series, Zatanna. We also just go off the rails a bit as we bullshit because it's been a little while since we've been able to hang out. It's a good time. That episode is available right now for our $1 patrons and it will be in the free feed at exportaud.io/batman on Monday the 12th. Also I should note that in this episode we're making a little change to the program. We're excited to talk about Superman and Beyond and Justice League, so we will be picking up the pace a bit with The Animated Series and start watching 2 episodes each week. We'll have to fudge the order a bit so we don't break up two-parters, but this first week we don't have to do that luckily. Next time we will be watching The Mechanic and Harley And Ivy.
On Tuesday, Ornate Stairwells did a ridiculously long episode that I think was an absolute banger. After our week off, we were just eager to record and didn't make time to watch Twin Peaks. So in this nearly four hour episode, we talk all about the Living Dead movies and Nia's takes on Dawn, Everything Everywhere All At Once and Eternals and the limits of representation politics, Jet Li, a reading of the erotics of War in the Pocket, and the absolute joy we felt watching Tsai Ming-liang's The Hole. That episode is out now for $1 patrons and will be out on Tuesday the 13th in the free feed at exportaud.io/ornatestairwells. On our next episode we will be finishing season 1 of Twin Peaks! Email us any of your questions about season 1 or our David Lynch project at exportaudiopodcast@gmail.com with Stairwells in the subject line. And don't forget you can always check exportaud.io/stairwellquality to see a list of movies we've covered.
On Pondering Pootan, Niamh and Connor were given homework to prepare an essay on the nature of procrastination. Despite the fact that this would’ve been a fantastic excuse to turn their essay late, they actually got the episode in early. I haven’t listened to it myself yet (what can I say? I’m a little behind schedule…) but I’m sure they don’t make an specious claims about pedagogy or the value of memorizing geography. That's out now for $1 patrons and will be out in the free feed on Wednesday the 14th at exportaud.io/pootan.
On Pardon My Franchise, Nora and I redeem ourselves after our controversial Dawn of the Dead episode by loving Day of the Dead to death. Oh my god this movie is so good. Arguably the best George Romero movie. Can't recommend it enough. You can hear our discussion now if you're a $1 patron and in the free feed on Thursday the 15th at exportaud.io/franchise.
On Coffee & Comic Books, Rick and I are joined by our first guest, Santo! We talk about Riyoko Ikeda's classic manga, Claudine. We really loved this book and dug into it in a very fun way. You can check that out for free on Patreon or at exportaud.io/comicbooks. Our next episode will be exclusive for $5 patrons as we cover The Winter Men. We recorded that episode last night and if I can say so, it's really really really fucking good. Then our next free episode will be covering Jack Kirby's 11 issue 2001: A Space Odyssey series. That'll be a wild ride.
On Ghost Divers, Connor and Niamh are joined by our friend Kim to start a brand new season! They'll be finishing out the year by talking all about the 2003 Kino's Journey. That literally dropped like half an hour ago as I write, so I'm very excited to start in on that soon. You can subscribe to that by going to exportaud.io/ghostdivers.
That's it for us! Don't forget that if you want to talk to us about the show, you can join the Abnormal Mapping discord, and while you're there you should check out Journal Updated. Nora and Molly did a really good episode about Fallout: New Vegas last week that has been on my mind ever since. You can find that by going thesecondbestgame.club
