Saturday was... well it exists in infamy now. Woke up to the power getting knocked out by high winds. Yeah sure, whatever, that happens around here. Power was restored at 3:45pm. My roommate and I went to our first concert in years that night, seeing Yes perform. The concert was great, we jammed out, had a lovely time.

It was on our way home that shit hit the fan. Driving back, radio's off because we're trying to readjust to the quiet, making a few jokes, the usual. We're about 40 minutes away from home when some asshole decides 5 over the speed limit isn't fast enough, passes us in a no passing zone, and throws their drink at us hitting the windshield and making me slam on the brakes. We don't go off the road and no one hits us, so all fine right? Except the car won't move. I think to myself "the brakes must have locked for safety" and start working at loosening them. I called the emergency line to let them know we're stuck because we can't even move to the side of the road. About 2 minutes later a police officer shows up, shines his light on our tire and goes "yeah, it's not your brakes." I get out and see the tire wedged against the back wall. The ball joint or control arm snapped while I was panicking to not go off the road. So now we're completely stranded 40 minutes from home at 11:30pm. A tow is called and we're able to afford it, but it's still not cheap. Luckily the tow driver was kind enough to let us ride with him back to our town.

After we get that car parked, my roommate says he's going to go get us tacos from Taco Bell because, you know, stressful night, we're all glitching out, tacos help us calm down. I'm still fighting a panic attack while he's gone, but manage to mostly calm down when he gives us a call. "My battery died, I'm stuck in the drive-thru". Are you serious? We take the other roommate's car to go jump him. After getting him running again, when we leave, we both get pulled over instantly. Roommate's car's headlights were out, only the foglights were working. The one we jumped, his tail light was out. We were both let off with a warning and went straight home, but Saturday? Fuck you.
