I've been working on a board game for... almost a year now. I started on 5 Jan 2022 and just now finished building the base game, for the most part. All that's left is economy scaling. The game is called Styx and Bones (probably obvious from the headline) and it is based on an idea of using dominoes for dungeon generation. You roll against different tables to see what encounters you get with the goal of collecting the right items and facing the final boss.

This game has been an honest pain to put together because it's something that is honestly a good idea, but if you have no experience in making a full RPG like this, you need to put so much time into it. There's stats, monsters, economy, etc. If any of this is out of balance, it becomes a slog. Luckily, I think I've got the balance down, but will know for sure when I can do a true dungeon run.

There are three game modes in Styx and Bones currently: Tutorial, Quickplay, and Campaign. Tutorial is a pregenerated dungeon I setup with specified encounters on each tile to help get the game across. Quickplay ends when all your dominoes have been used up or when you run out of lives. Finally, Campaign doesn't end until you run out of lives or you beat the final boss.

Art-wise, the art is being handled by Rossy, who you can find on Twitter or Instagram. He is a very good artist and I'm looking forward to being able to have the finished product in both our hands so we can enjoy it to its fullest. Honestly, this is all I can share at the moment, but I hope y'all are looking forward to it.
