I think my roommate who claims to have ADHD doesn't understand ADHD. I was discussing with them how I was diagnosed as a kid but didn't know the full extent of it until I was in my mid 20's. They said all kinds of things about how I should have learned sooner. Yes, a mental disorder that until about 10 years ago was heavily ostracized in society as "over diagnosed" and "laziness". One that unless you were able to find the right places, you were just going to get "hyper activity, struggles to pay attention" as the only symptoms. One where one of the symptoms is a struggle to have the will to actually do things. Sorry, not an actual lot to say here, just really venting on this because it's been a huge struggle for me.
