it's frustrating that there just doesn't seem to be a usable database of blu-ray special features online. I'm ripping my whole physical library to my Plex server, and I'm absolutely interested in preserving the special features, but some of these discs will have a dozen or more files, all of which I can only really categorize by watching the first minute or so of each one and hoping it's clear what exactly I'm watching.
luckily, Plex itself is actually the best way to do that from what I've found — I have a separate library of blu-ray rips, and while Plex initially thinks every file is the original movie (because they're all named, like, "NAME OF MOVIE-tXX.mkv", where XX starts at 00 and goes up and therefore assumes that it's a dozen versions of the same movie, it's very easy to split it into separate copies, and then I just need to make sure I don't lose track of which version I'm watching.
once I get through all my Criterion edition blu-rays, I imagine the work will speed up some — the closer to the present I get, the less lavish I assume the average movie's special features offerings will be. that being said, I can imagine a million ways I could be wrong about that!
