Thanks Tom, this reminds me I need to see how it controls. I got about 14 hours in years ago and sorta forgot where I was at XD
I really need to chew through the non-Trails/Ys Falcom games at some point
They're super neat! As much as I love the Ys and Trails parts of their catalogue like anyone else, a lot of their more mechanically inventive stuff tends to lie elsewhere, yeah. (And I say that lovingly; they wrote so much of the RPG and action RPG rulebook, they're allowed to be less inventive these days.) Xanadu Next is still eminently playable and approachable today and I suspect would be up your alley, although I also have a soft spot for the PSP Brandish remake as well despite actually not being all that keen on the original game.
