Keeping it short: been a fan of Barron's work for years and years. The man needs help. The US is a nightmare, and one part of that nightmare is the garbage healthcare system--as most of you know.

Here's the link to the GoFundMe and a few details about how Laird is doing: https://gofund.me/98bb5807

If you've never read Laird's work, now's not a bad time. The Imago Sequence, Occultation, and The Beautiful Thing That Awaits Us All are all stunning collections of creeping cosmic horror/new weird. When it comes to Imago, I'd argue every single story is a masterpiece.

Aloalo International Co., Ltd. had some eerie bangers, and by bangers I mean extremely tight artsy shit mixed with 90s desktop companions like BAKA VIDEO DRUG and UNMOVABLE CUTIE MASCOTS. Their website, other than a 2008 post to let people know mail ordering was out, was last updated in 1998. It includes details about their floppy disks & CDs, as well as various Hideki Nakazawa artifacts--including postcards and zines. You can find Nakazawa's homepage, portfolio, and bio here. Glad to report Nakazawa is still very active--not to mention prolific.

My favorite entry may be the one for SCREWY ANIMATIONS which reads:

The first work of "Abstract animation of automatism." It is such a depaysement as caracters' motion and sound are abstract (not purposeful) and automatic (not certain). Let's drive out all the storyness from multimedia!

Here's an Archive link with .img files and disk covers and so on. Credits and shoutout to @dog for her scans/dumps.

(also, shoutout to @lmichet for the Interesting Link hashtag. It's good.)
