okay so
ive recently decided to attempt to catch all 289 Big Fish currently in Final Fantasy 14 and i kinda feel compelled to keep note of it so??? hi thats this. if you don't know Big Fish ive put an explanation under the break
ive caught 131 out of 289 fish so far!! ive been going for three weeks, or just about, so that's pretty good progress. the true test of patience is yet to come
OKAY Big Fish (i will always capitalise this as its the official name) are fish that have special spawn conditions and are typically very hard to get. they don't really do anything aside from be there and taunt players like me into sinking a ton of their time into trying to get them for the sole purpose of getting them
the conditions are usually either in-game time or weather dependant. or you need to fish another bunch of fish beforehand to get a buff that let's you get the Big Fish. or you need to hook another fish and use that as bait. or!!! they all combine in some horrific way that mean you can only catch it between 1pm - 2pm in-game time (thats 2 minutes irl), but only if it's raining and only if you caught 3 other fish beforehand AND it only bites about 3% of the time!!!! wow wowowowowowo why am i doing this actuall
im gonna use the space under the break every time i update to write a little about the ones ive found interesting or scary or annoying so far
