Another popular micom game that received multiple sequels on home consoles, but never a direct port of the original: Silpheed, a vertical STG produced by Game Arts in 1986 that turned heads with its real-time polygonal graphics, and elicited more than a few laughs with its charmingly quaint experiments with CSM synthesised speech. The game system is strictly 2D and not especially complex, but it has that Compile-esque kitchen-sink design that people wanted from home games at the time (but minus Compile's challenge-nullifying elements).

EGG's upfront about there being no stage select or speed modifiers for this release... I can see fast-forward/rewind causing emulation issues, but stage select?
