thinking about the whole "alpha/omega/whatever" wolf study and how ideas of wolf sociability and society and behavior were entirely flawed as a result of studies performed under duress, and that the duress of the conditions the wolves were in made them in ways they wouldn't have naturally.
we're all under duress in our conditions in life, in our own ways. financial strain, ron desantis, this that and the other, employment woes, a shower i have to wear sandals in after years of a roof leak
who are we without those stressors, what are we really like? how do we venture into those themes of self-discovery through a fictional lens, since we sure don't get much a chance of it in real?
that's a fun angle to explore in the furry writing i don't do nearly enough of.
i mean obviously outside of the lens of furry fiction it's just a heavy question. Who would I be, who would you be, who would we all get to be, what are the lives and selves we are missing out on and falling short of due to the hands we're dealt on this bitch of an earth
but pondering that at length in real just leads to despair so i just get queer with Themes instead where i can typing goofy animal stuff at my friends
i think a big part of transness is trying to understand exactly this.
