started this last night. stylistically really good.

there are obviously a few other post-apocalyptic pieces of media that open with the pre-pandemic flashback, with 'my friend who's a doctor called me, this new virus is going to kill everybody, get out of the city now'. but it sure hits different post-covid, huh. like, i'm feeling the anxiety in my chest again just writing about it.

i am interested in seeing what this has to offer thematically, beyond just 'even after the apocalypse, people need art'.
if it's just that, i think something like mr. burns, where the art that survives is stuff that was 'inconsequential' and 'lowbrow' in its own time, is more conceptually interesting than 'whatever would we do without shakespeare'. we'll see!
