They do this so that they can copyright (aka earn money from) their recipes! Copyright laws don't protect recipes even though they take months if not longer to make, but putting that sort of thing at the start allows it to be copyrighted as an article
Oh damn, that didn't even occur to me re: copyright & earning income off recipes. Guess you do learn new things every day
At the same time, I wish more sites would have the ability to skip down to the recipe section. The common sorts of ads you find on recipe blogs usually stretch the page out unbearably.
I also still have even more citrus outside of this box I need to work through so I'll take any baking recipes that use a ton of lemons.
