I've neglected co-host, but since tumblr may or may not be going down and it's not like anyone cared about me there either, I want to find more writers here on this blogging platform! I know I'm a game dev and that's what I've found here despite not game devving in a hot minute, but writing is really isolating and depressing when all I know are game devs!
So, a little about me as a writer. I've been writing for a very long time and tried to trad-publish for way too long before learning wow no one likes me there. With it now also being a trash fire, this year I decided to try self-publishing (since I could already write, format, and make my own cover...). I'm not convinced people like me any better there and I still have a lot to learn with a lot of failures to come, but I like what I've put out so far even if I don't know how to reach my audience. I write for the reader in me and if that remains only me, well, at least I enjoy reading my stuff!
Anyway! I like queer stuff. I like fantasy. I like sci fi! Give me anything with a speculative twist, and generally I will adore it. Unfortunately, I'm not too big on writing erotica or romance which seem to dominate the indie sphere, but that's okay!! My stories tend to be somber and sad because apparently that's what I am deep down, but I always try for a happy ending because I'd like one too.
Currently, I am working on NaNoWriMo with my slice of life sci-fi about androids and souls. I am also publishing Born of Scourge in February, so if you're looking for a somber dark fantasy about a fallen star wishing to end humanity for good, definitely check it out! I also have a web novel (The Magician & The Bard feat. a queer magician and bard up to magical hi jinks and shenanigans) I updated throughout the year and hope to continue next year if I still have someplace to write and any readers that actually read it.
If you'd like to learn more about my writing, please check out my writing website: https://sjean.carrd.co/. All my projects are on there with appropriate links. And, since I love keeping things centralized, all my released writing is available on itch.io.
In any case, I'd love to get to know more writers! I'm terribly shy but I am going to try.
