RIP Cohost 2024. You were the best social media site to have ever been done. Long live eggbug. If you're seeing this in the future, on some archive, be kind to others. It's the only way things get better.

Seen that 'level 12 pile of dust' meme going around, and it's so fuckin' bad, like

Not because it's a level of nitpicky rules lawyery stupidity - that's my wheelhouse, baby.

It's bad because it's wrong? Like these jokes only work if they're right and the joke is that the terrible construction of the system is at fault, but that's not the case here, and parading around like it's right is relying on the reader not knowing the rules, and it is a mockery remote!

Disintegrate turns you into an object if it brings you to 0HP - a fine pile of dust.

Only creatures gain the Unconscious condition at 0HP. Objects are destroyed, which is so very much worse than regular death. That's why it says only True Resurrection/Wish can bring you back - they're the only spells that can raise the dead without a body.

Get that Weak Shit off of my court! S'fucken embarrasing!

Sorry I got pulled off-stage by a large hooked cane.

On one hand, you're right. RAW, you can't be a pile of dust.

On the other hand, playing as a sentient pile of dust, with all the perils and challenges that entails, is great, and that shit will fly at my table.

Yeah, of course, but that's typically not the threads a lot of clever players I'm lucky enough to play with will launch off of with their characters; it's usually more from strange outcomes in the narrative, which lessens the strain on the system itself, which may already be straining under the weight of skilful players.
