No joke, just watched a transaction - from the card number, not direct debit - go out from my card. Here in Australia.
To a Care Center in New York City.
Fucking, excuse me?
Card, locked and burned. Account, safe (I hope!). Dispute, lodged.
Commbank are not a company that is morally defendable.
But I will say their customer service has been exemplary for the last decade now. For that alone, I'll stick with them.
To add to this; I don't do a lot of stuff with my card. I do a very small amount of online shopping, and through mostly-safe portals wherever and whenever possible. I'm quite secure. I also haven't lost my card. It's a new card and number, too; I doubt it was seen or used from a digital space.
The only anomaly recently was that I went to an in-person collectables and toys Con recently. Either a merchant terminal was compromised, or someone was doing some shady pocket-scan shit; both possibilities bother me deeply, but it's handled.
Hoping it was that, and not some other, deeper, system compromise.
