It goes back to low 20's immediately after this and for the rest of the week.
Double A/C kinda day. Each passing Summer/humid day, I regret less and less the buying of my half-a-grand portable reverse cycle A/C, as years of unreliable heat management has plagued every place we've lived. This place has evaporative, which is fine and efficient for mild-moderate heat, but humidity sucks ass, whether hot or cold, but if hot, then it's basically useless. I wouldn't have this if I hadn't had my hand forced, sadly. Last few years have been rough.
The (privately owned half of, and lived in, the same set of units as us(!!!)) landlady of the previous place denied us using the in-wall/window one I bought in an emergency, after the unit's shitty in-wall A/C at the time died, and she wouldn't guarantee a fix because it was near Christmas - in the worst unit for heat. I had the receipt and warranty and confirmed transferability the warranty on sale, and offered to sell it to her, even minus shipping, so it would effectively be a (top of the line, extremely well researched) replacement. She refused.
Thankfully the A/C place we bought it from let me exchange it for an equivalent price thing, which was this powerful little reverse cycle.
Also thankfully, we're well into the healing phase after three terrible runs of abusive live-in/near landladies over the last 5+ years. Learned about my first trauma-related memory loss the other day! From near the end of that era. That's how bad it got, it seems.
Didn't expect to go deep, but after months of one of Australia's worst summers in a camper-van with terrible A/C b/c we were, effectively, homeless, Australian Summer heat evokes additional complex feelings for me now.
