It is QUITE funny watching Microsoft absolutely shit the bed on the Xbox
right after putting so many eggs in the Bethesda basket (7.5 billion eggs to be precise)
because, we damn well know that Starfield didn't perform up to their internal expectations
not enough positive press, not enough "awards" (ads), not enough sales despite several million (gamepass clearly no longer cuts it, I saw someone say they were down to like ~34mil subs, and that's apparently bad numbers for them) and the game generally not looking like it's going to be the next Skyrim in terms of money-printing
I have to wonder if these two things are related. (In addition, ofc, to the abysmal state of the industry with regards to its workers atm.) Like I genuinely wonder if the essentially back-to-back buyouts of ABK and Bethesda, both then going on to perform like dogshit, shot them in the foot so hard they're giving up the Console War.
Hope so. Bout time the fucking top end collapsed in on itself.
