RIP Cohost 2024. You were the best social media site to have ever been done. Long live eggbug. If you're seeing this in the future, on some archive, be kind to others. It's the only way things get better.

Like, I get it, they were end-game content and BiS in their day. They're unique, they're eternal, they're an achievement.

But like, come on. It's a bit fucking much. Watching folks go thru it on discord is wild. You'd never catch me doing that kind of grind, honestly. I can barely do my dailies without champing at the bit.

While I don't think they should go, like, the WoW route and change it wholesale and just give folks a legacy achievement for the old grind, they could make a second, easier avenue for acquiring them, and leave the buck wild grind in with an achievement for doing it or something. Like, best of both worlds maybe.

Idk, seems a lot.

They... They do look cool though, in some cases...

Honestly, having done the Anima weapons a few times, I am of the opinion that it is the most humane of the grinds as long as you have tolerance for unsyncing old dungeon content which I find quite chill personally. Otherwise its a sensible sink for all the poetics and GC seals you have no idea what to spend on.

You know, that's entirely fair and true. I do really like unsyncing old content and just stomping face, it's really chill and enjoyable.

Being glutted on poetics must be what doing roulettes daily feels like. I can't stand the spool up time. 5-30 minutes before a 25-30 minute thing is real rough on my head. XD

Honestly, I did one up to Nexus during ARR and I think I'm still burned out. Still two stages left on that piece of shit. The grind is fairly tolerable now (provided you have the self-control not to rush - I've watched a few people try to go fast and burn out) but back then, at-level and with all the resource scarcity it entails, it was so not worth it.

I am really glad they're committed to making new relics Not Like That, though. I think having big long-termable goals that aren't just "clearing a hard thing where you fail mostly until you git gud" is a good thing overall, though I'm more content to just take a year off every expansion.

honestly only really the third and fifth stages of an anima weapon are the really bad parts (they could probably stand to either reduce the poetic price of Unidentifiable items or reduce the number you need, and the fifth stage only really sucks if you're not a crafter/gatherer), the rest is a pretty fun time, especially if you get some friends to help
