The one IRL friend that invited me to their FC left it today; the FC didn't fold, but I literally knew no one else there, and the buffs weren't even on half the time anyway, so I bounced too. The one thing they helped me through (thankful) was ages ago, and I haven't asked for help again since - despite needing it b/c queues for DPS are like 30mins unless I'm specifically on right during reset - I haven't done Abyssal Fracture yet, and 6.58 comes out This Month!! BLEGH.
So really, the only thing keeping me on the OCE is the ping. Which... Is fine? The ping is fine? 34ms is nice, but ability queueing makes it matter less. But it would matter more if I were doing anything that required say, positional timing, ala raids/statics/etc.
Moving (back) to an NA DC would increase my chances of doing content that requires that somewhat. My ping on NA is 190, pretty locked, which is something. I don't feel any issues when playing in a low-level sense, but I've not encountered a lot of AOEs yet at that level, so that might make a big difference. I've heard 200ms is pretty much the limit for like, possibility of accessing higher level group content, so I might still be okay.
And there are quite a few people keen to see me on NA servers too. Just hanging out on the low-level ping-testing alt (a lala-fied version of my Au Ra boy), like four people server hopped and tracked me down unprompted, just to say hi. I kept getting pings in Discord with 'SPOTTED' screenshots XD
It would also give me access to more of the generally active FFXIV populace. OCE is good, but it's... Not quite thumping enough for me to find my little niche.
So, yeah. It's on the cards. I think.
