Just had an absolutely great day today in Etheirys. Shout out to the Eorzean Chosties discord, but also to @alphatron specifically for hanging out and generally being encouraging and kind and helpful and great. :3 Read on if you just wanna see big lizzer boys posting W's.
I woke up late for the IC museum run, which was sad, but everyone had a great time so I wasn't fussed.
But then! Ohoho, then. I had enough scrips (plus gil but shsshhh don't tell the Ladies that) to buy some dear friends a couple copies of an emote they were after.
Then I ran maps with friends for a while, and made baaank. Made it to the end of the first map we did, which was amazing. Double Ramus thunder choke on ORB. It was wild. Like 800k just from gil-get across the night. We had like ~2mil in items drop as well. I got a 3x of the Paint emotes, which was great (Immediately shared amongst those that didn't have it), and I got my first Fashion Cosmetic - the Archangel Wings! (Also a Namazu minipet - very good yes yes.)
Then AFTER that, I hung out with @alphatron the rest of the day. He helped me get my Wondrous Tails done for the first time, and I got a DOUBLE LINE!! :D For me that's just gear upgrades. Almost got two Crendendum pieces just from maps and WT (25 comedy tomes off!! Should run a roulette...)
But but but! @alphatron finished theirs FIRST, and got a double line! He then mysteriously disappeared, and returned with a much sought after gift, of all things!! He bought me the Omega-F minion!! EeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEE! (For those that don't know it's an OC thing. @alphatron has an amazing Omega-post-Beyond-The-Rift OC alt called Psi that is just... Incredible. Huge fan. Extremely normal about it. @alphatron hasn't given me the brainworms about Omicrons and Omega at all.
Instant RP chemistry with my Bal. So fucking adorable together. So many parallels and complimentary themes, and similar struggles in their very different origins/backstories... UGH I get so 🥺🥺🥺 thinking about themmm!!! So, yes, that's why the Omega-F is so delightful and wonderful. Tiny Psi with me at all times. But I still managed to achieve my own two-line WT! Very pleased with it overall.
@alphatron then stuck around for several hours chatting while I cleaned out my inventory - after he reminded me of the EXTREMELY helpful Teamcraft Inventory Optimizer in the desktop tool. Omg. LOVE that thing. HUGE boon. I reclaimed 178 slots across my all my inventories/2x retainers; 3/4 pages of inventory, a page of saddlebag space, and a page of retainer space, plus enough room to fully split my retainers into Crafting and Other. UNF. SO GOOD.
I'm just starting to wean myself off of basic combo-combining 'crimes' before DT so I don't get blindsided by the lack of 'crimes'. I'll be peeled, yes, and that'll suck. Hoping that Dalamud drops early (what a phrase), and updates early into DT, but I'm not holding my breath. Rarely ever works.
Very good day in Etheirys for the boy. Much needed.
