Is there a polite way to say minors DNI? Because I'm saying it regardless. I have Strongly Worded Thoughts on this but they're just going to be taken as overly harsh, so I'll simply leave it at that. I had a lot more written out, but no matter how I phrase it, it comes off as cranky and old. I guess that's just how it is after a certain point in life.

But that's also kinda the point? You're a Child Until You're Not; no barrier of specific age demarks that. It happens when life bites you hard enough to take flesh that won't grow back. It happens when your mind outpaces your body for the first time in your life and your body never really quite catches up again. It happens when you wonder where your energy went, and why everything in life feels Heavier.

And that doesn't happen in most people pre-25, tbh. And I was a Traumatised Youth That Matured Quickly (~14? 15?), and as a 30-something now, I will state with absolute authority - it does not count.

So, y'know. Minors DNI.

Honestly minors should just not be allowed on the general internet. I think that as more and more people who grew up with internet access are becoming adults it's becoming more and more obvious it's had negative effects on their development.

Unfiltered internet is a BAD place to be. I grew up on it. It's a rough part of 'town'.

At the very least, minors shouldn't be allowed unfettered internet access. Minors deserve privacy, like all beings, but nothing digital is private unless it doesn't have any external connectivity, so. Back to pocket organisers for the kiddos!

Yeah... I don't know how adults tolerated me when I was a kid on the internet (likely they couldn't stand me and I was oblivious), and everything is 200 times more loud and exhausting with modern social media. I feel like the age threshold of "don't fucking talk to me" is increasing way faster than time is passing, because I'm getting to the point where I'll see "22-23" in someone's bio and grumpily think to myself no fucking wonder I have no patience with this person.

I am beginning to understand why old people are annoyed by anyone under 50 😞

It's not mechanically possible to politely tell someone to fuck off because of what they are.

Caus Polite is a ruleset about Correct Methods In Engagement. Nothing in it works for "Just shut this whole thing down."

So like. Be Rude? It's Fine? It just means a certain chunk of people have a negative reaction? That's Normal?
