RIP Cohost 2024. You were the best social media site to have ever been done. Long live eggbug. If you're seeing this in the future, on some archive, be kind to others. It's the only way things get better.

None of the efforts I made the last time I modded Morrowind to guide myself upon my inevitable attempt to return to the same game/install months later helped me at all. It is a complete disarray, the game won't launch in any modded profile, and none of my fixes work. Deep sigh.

The name of my boulder is 'Modding', and the mountain up which I roll it, 'Morrowind'.

Emil is the jackass who specifically chooses not to develop with design documents, and thinks writing a good story is a waste of time. Starfield isn't bad because 'making games are hard'. Starfield is bad because Emil consistently has really bad ideas about game design, and his writing is garbage.

This coming on the back of learning that Chris Avellone Obsidian Entertainment (fuck Chris, put him up there with Brian Fargo as actual real-life pieces of shit above and beyond the sole scope of this chost - game design.) pitched multiple Fallout: New Vegas style games to Bethesda as side-games, and Bethesda turning them all down.

Really. You've gotta be fucking kidding me.

What the fuck is the point then???

EDIT: To be clear, I missed something. It's apparently UE5 as an overlay. No idea what that means. I'm going off hearsay, but it also sounds more involved than a graphical pipeline.

Moddability is gonna be so limited compared to a Creation Engine game, specifically because it's unlikely the rumour-maybe-confirmed studio doing the remake/remaster/whatever it specifically is will release modding tools for the game.

Thankfully UE's not impenetrable when it comes to community-made modding tools, but it's a much more complex and modern engine than Creation - I at least expected Bethesda to try and push their work on CE2 to benefit the remakes and, y'know, sell it as an engine others might want to use, but I guess they've just given up on it as a business endeavour.

Ah well. Maybe it'll be good to try a Bethesda RPG outside of the god-awful Creation Engine.

Oh, no, PureDark's gonna put hidden mines in his modifications of another person's work as a form of DRM - mods that others can also freely make with no repercussions, as seen by that one dude who remade the DLSSG mod for free.

Woe. It's not like one person couldn't just... IDK... Subscribe, then compare the """permanently""" unlocked version with the regular to find the """hidden mines""", and... Remove them.

How the hell does someone like PureDark not know how vehement the Scene is?

What's he gonna do when people blow through any shitty DRM he adds? Put Denuvo on his mods?

Fucking fool, honestly.
