Watching the Homeworld 3 introductory cinematic got me like

why wont they fucking acknowledge Cataclysm

It was such a good game, and added something to the lore that would have made the current story way more fitting in the universe than it is now. It would have leaned off everything being so S'jet heavy. And don't get me wrong, I'm pro-S'jet, but the Anomaly 'spreading' sounds like it's just going to be a lesser rehash of Cataclysm.

Hope they fix up the UI and controls before launch - hope that's what the delay was for. Otherwise I'm keen.

Losing my mind rn realising that They Might Be Giants did not one, but two songs for Homestar Runner - one for the 99th email, and one for the 200th email, in which Linnell is canonically the voice of the Poopsmith.

I just. Can't believe I didn't know this.

Folks have been talking up that 2023 has been one of the best years for video games ever. But between massive layoffs, horrible thinly veiled commercial that is the game awards, the increasing lack of discoverability for small games, and all the other stuff around video games this year, I figured it might be nice to run an informal survey of Cohost's favorite games of 2023 (and what 2024 games are folks here most excited for.)
