what's with the surge of opinions in the form of "X killed Y and it's bad" on cohost. like. i don't want discord with half the features, i don't want to use physical media, mobile apps work better than mobile websites, javascript is cool. idk. it feels weird to brush away the desires of actual real human beings by saying "capitalism did it". people are capitalism, for better or for worse

think it's just that, after a while, in every social media website there emerges a type of post or poster that instantly attracts more engagement than others and is specific to the platform.
reddit has the karma chasing reply guy, twitter has dunks on strangers, tumblr gets the self-aggrandizing takes, and cohost excels at talking about the evils of the modern web and tech in general.
