I can't believe this. I haven't been to a restaurant in so long that I genuinely thought I must have just been mistaken about what "entrée" meant. I kept seeing stuff from Americans describing the three courses of a meal as "appetizer", "entrée", and "dessert", and I'd always think "that's odd, why would you have two starters and no main course? Must just be some weird thing fancy restaurants do". Why did we let this happen - and how?

Damn, and here as an American I always thought, it's weird that entree doesn't mean an appetizer, right? Like it sounds like entry - the entry point of the meal?
