I have been working in accessible web design and software development since 2014 or so. I thought it would be a good idea to maybe share some of what I know here!

if people have questions of how screen readers work, blind folks been very open to share their experiences: computer use, texting, instagram comments.

if you want to try it yourself, there are free screen readers out there that you can get and try yourself, relying only on the program with your eyes unavailable. NVDA worked great for me when i needed it.

if you wanna read on image descriptions, there are good resources out there too. alt text as poetry slaps. perkins has a wonderfully thorough guide.

competing access needs exist. and accommodating people is a labour of love. i want to be with community whatever they and i look like.
