A little frustratingly US-centric, also I don't control whether my flat has a bidet or not???

*resistant to, not immune.

Aspects of furry absolutely have been recuperated by capital. Take for example fursuits. I was involved in an organizing drive at a fursuit maker you would recognize the name of (it's not like there are that many companies in that space) in late 2021/early 2022. The owners were petty in every sense, including petit bourgeoisie. Their incentives were entirely controlled by banks, so they did whatever horrible things occurred to them to keep more of the money themselves than they ever distributed to the people whose work they relied on.

Take heed from the extreme exploitation in the sex work industries: capital will recuperate the weird and the horny with the same violence as that which it deems more socially acceptable. And the weird horny stuff creators will have less public sympathy than the clean looking bankers when their access to the means to get to the money they've earned are arbitrarily removed. Discrimination by public shaming is itself a tool for capital.

That said, we absolutely should revel in and embrace the solidarity of being weird and horny together. Well, possibly separately but in parallel, depending on consent and preferences.
