Got my hands on Glimmering Valley for Numenera. I'm only a couple of chapters in but I love it. This is going to be perfect for getting people to play Numenera with me.
For those unaware, Glimmering Valley is a sandbox campaign book that is meant to be a starting point for the setting. Players can discover things in any order and at their own pace. This means (for me at least) that prep is minimal beyond reading Glimmering Valley and needs a bit of improv to respond to player decisions. This is my preferred GMing experience.
The character options are ever so slightly more limited for the campaign. Beginning characters can only make Glaives, Nanos, and Jacks; but I think that's for the best for brand new players.
So far really happy with the book. Can't wait to run it
