you can improve any character by making them fat
it seems that normal people when they get pitched a TTRPG where your characters are founding a kingdom and then running it think "Who would be a cool adventurer?" or "What would be a cool vagabond to national hero arc?" but when I get asked that I go "What kind of scumbag craves the power of statehood and is willing to risk their life in pursuit of it?" and make a character that would make a great secondary antagonist in most other games
