WHM 90! :ronkabop:

Coming back to it after months, and after watching Aurora climb deep dungeon with it and after doing a bunch of extremes, is honestly kind of weird. When I left off, WHM was, to me, aesthetically very pleasing but mechanically very flat. But now I'm noticing all the little nuances when it comes to playing it Optimally - things like using Presence of Mind on cooldown for offense rather than holding it for your "oh shit" moments when you need to churn out a bunch of heals (and ditto for Assize) and optimizing the usage of your lilies while minimizing the number of non-lily heals you hardcast.

I feel like I've unlocked a whole other side of the job, and I can't wait to take it into some high-end duties. :eggbug-smile-hearts:

(Sage is still my primary love but our savage static (I found one!!) already has a scholar and I've gotten way too excited about various PF groups only to realize they already had a shield healer :eggbug-heart-sob:)

Don't be fooled, WHM is mechanically very flat. This is a FEATURE for those of us maining it, in my experience: more brain left over to walk out of orange!

But yeah the whole metagame of being very deliberate about lily timing/use, "Assize is a DPS button" etc is a little more involved than the level 50 experience makes it out to be. :eggbug-wink: Have fun!

It's kind of unfortunate that if you wanna play a pure healer your choices are "so do you want none stimulation or A L L" but "press a button every two minutes and press another every 40 seconds" is about my upper limit of what I can tolerate in terms of rotations, so it all works out!

I was going to argue, but I immediately realized it would be much funnier for my extremely-not-Gridanian Warrior of Light to have ongoing political tension with Gridania not due to having the job stone, not due to being a non-Padjali WHM, not due to being an adventurer instead of tied to the Shroud... but because she wears thigh-highs instead of short-shorts. The icy tension at the metaphorical dinner table is because her leg-clothing is short going in the wrong direction. YES. You have opened my eyes to the truth, thank you.
