fun fact: we got into MMOs because proto-us (mostly proto-me) was distraught at having no more world to explore in FFXII after sinking hundreds of hours into it. we thought, "if only there was something like this game that goes on forever..."
that was like... over a decade ago?
sure was some kind of injustice to come back to Rabanastre in FFXIV - after spending so long bumming around there in FFXII, doing so many miscellaneous sidequests (we spent so long trying to catch that damn cockatrice), chatting with the locals, watching the members of Clan Centurio chase each other around, checking the bazaar for the 100th time... chilling to the music. the music! - only to find that the damn Imperials had destroyed it while we were away.
there were plenty of moments over the game that I'd wanted to garrote Garlemald, but that one, that one was personal. 🔪
