I love soup as a concept but in practice the only readily available soups I can eat are tomato soup and french onion soup

the things I'd do for some hot, savory congee...

I am also loading up on french onion soup tomorrow and getting a bunch of spinach and mushrooms to throw in there. if the stores won't sell the veggie soup I so clearly deserve I will cheat my own :host-frown:

Honestly soup is easier to home make than people think if you aren't all precious and foodie about it. One of my go-to meals during my last veg phase was what I called "handful soup": you literally get a pot of water, and just throw in a literal handful of whatever you like, and cook it until it's done. Usually soya bits or lentils for protein, frozen veg, and some kind of starch like small pasta or rice. Season as desired with some kinda bouillon and spices.
