my primary reactions to the new following page rollout are "ohh neat shiny new thing" and "yesss, another way for people to filter me out"

that last one is sincere! I am aware that a) I am not everyone's cup of tea every of the time, and b) I post a lot, including lots of self-reblogs that take up extra space. I have no desire to Pre-emptively Contain Myself, so I just trust that the people following me are into that, that the people not into that have tools to not see my posts, and that the people who are kind of in the middle will find ways to use those same tools to moderate their experience.

in general it is a Tremendous release from anxiety to remember that anyone who doesn't want to see your your posts has ways to not see them, and this is a good thing. highly recommend it
