you'd think this would freak me out given my History With Bugs And Also These Bugs Specifically but... it doesn't, actually..... in fact I think it's kinda cute. oh no

more thrips facts: like everything eats them. and when creatures aren't eating them the weather is. they are soft-bodied and small and helpless and tasty. the adults have wings but they're shite at flying

that's why their populations just fuckin explode indoors, because their one defense against extinction is breeding really fucking lots, and now nothing is eating them! so now you, as the human, have to take on that role. (or hire some other bugs to do it for you)

they should have just talked to me! I sympathize with being soft-bodied and small and helpless and shite at flying! there was more basil than we were eating and I would have set aside sprigs for them if they'd just asked me nicely, but noooo, it had to come to THIS
