(tbh, my spiel on [site that eats your logs and spits out automated advice] is making me realize that maybe I would enjoy going through people's SGE logs and giving them advice on stuff they could think about, without them having to submit to the tyranny of Numbers or automation. not nitpicks like "hey you forgot to shield that one raidwide" but stuff like "I've noticed in all these fights that you never use Pneuma and that you resort to casting Prognosis over and over a lot when the party's taken lots of damage, Zoe + Pneuma is a really powerful group heal that can save you some grief"

but I really would want to run sage through more high-end content first, and also I'm kind of a bad teacher actually. a decent guide writer does not a good teacher make)

in reply to @bazelgeuse-apologist's post:

that sounds like a really cool thing to do... I find [site] sometimes kinda useful for DNC because like half the time I do just forget I have a party mit, or I get dumped into an endwalker duty where I don't know the proper opener, or whatever, and "remember to press your buttons when they light up" is approximately useful advice, but for WHM it's somehow not? idk, somehow my brain is perfectly happy to accept "any shield samba will reduce healing load" but I still mostly don't hit confession unless I know big heals will be required soon

I have my own annoyances with it too (it should not yell at me for not using buttons that got synced away from me in that duty!) but that feels somehow separate from "making a computer differentiate 'interrupting a cast because you needed to do a mechanic' vs 'interrupting a cast because you hit a movement key by mistake' vs 'interrupting a cast because you fucked up a slidecast' vs 'whatever else' is really hard, and Just Talking About that stuff is way easier"

I personally read the "you have these healer abilities available that you weren't using" part less as "you Should be using these abilities" and more as "you have options here, in case you feel like your healing plan is lacking for this part of the fight!" But either way, it's not nearly as relevant to normal content as it is to savage. Stuff just doesn't hit as hard or as fast unless your party is undergeared and clueless.
