I'd originally approached the Thrips Problem (and all other pest-related problems) from a place of "I just gotta Eliminate all Bugs and then I can quit with the constant spraydowns of bug-killing juice" but the longer I go on, the more I'm like... maybe that isn't a realistic expectation. even indoors, there will always be Bugs - they'll crawl in through the cracks or hitch a ride in on produce or whatever. this is a matter of maintenance and prevention, not a one-and-done deal. this is just part of keeping plants, just like animal illness is part of keeping animals

and you know... I'm actually okay with that! the idea of giving my plants a weekly dousing in bug-killing juice* is actually not horrible to me, despite my usual distaste for Periodic Obligations. it's really nice actually, having an active role in taking care of another living being, and watching it grow under my care. (did you know!!! my precious basil grew a bunch of new leaves!!! I'm so proud!!! :eggbug-heart-sob:)

*which will likely continue to be insecticidal soap + horticultural oil, I would much rather avoid using the full-on pesticides if possible
