I'm making an enemy out of those language websites that try to handle every language at once. I saw someone use an Irish word for something because they thought it meant dragon, but the actual nuance behind the meaning is in using the word dragon to refer to a woman perjoratively, so you don't get the entire picture by just saying "it means dragon" without describing the context behind its use. This isn't a dig at the person in question, its specifically at websites that try to cast such a wide net over languages that they don't consider cases like this.
My advice is that if you want to take influence from a language you don't speak, make sure you look into resources made specifically by people who speak that language to make sure you're communicating what you actually want to communicate. Foclóir and Teanglann are pretty good ones for Irish. They're both from the same organisation, but Foclóir is more contemporary and provides contextual shit like describing how words are used in sentences while Teanglann is a bit more on the traditional dictionary end. They're both useful.
