(fallen london stamps by replaced my nvidia gpu with an amd one and all of the problems I've been having on linux have mysteriously vanished! wow!! I wonder what could have been possibly causing all of those issues in the first place!!! I guess we'll never know!!!!!
the issues btw included such charming things as "60% of the time when trying to boot FFXIV the entire computer has a panic attack and goes entirely unresponsive, forcing a hard reboot." i think my record was something like eight reboots before the game finally loaded
of course, on AMD, It Just Works(tm)
OH YEAH AND HOW COULD I FORGET "installing updates to the nvidia linux drivers will usually fuck over your display in fascinating and exotic ways"! you even get different flavors of fuckup if you rollback and try to install the driver a second or third time to be sure! will your displays be super zoomed in? will one of your monitors not work? maybe both?? spin the wheel!!
