YES THANK YOU FOR ASKING here is the Basil Corner (with green onion friends peeking from the bottom)
I have two plants in LECA (a semihydro system), a bunch in a big regular pot, and two in what's supposed to be a self-watering pot, except that I'm not sure if the self-watering part is working. One of the self-watering pot plants suddenly withered after doing fine for weeks while its sibling is doing? fine?? I have no idea if it's thirst or root rot or if the other sprig just outcompeted it and I'm too nervous to dig it up and check, so I just top watered that pot to be safe. (The soil was very, very dry.)
If the self-watering pot basil does well and gets bigger, I'm going to give it to some local friends, personal sunlamp and all. If/when I grow Future Basil, it will all be in LECA since that's been the most painless setup and the plants really like it. I kinda want to move the Big Pot plants to LECA, too, but I don't feel like disturbing them and trying to get them used to semihydro so soon after the ordeal with the thrips.
