anyway, re: languages, I've half a mind to go learn Norwegian instead, of all things. like. I know a grand total of two (2) Norwegian people, both of whom are very fluent in English. there isn't a sizable Norwegian community in my area and I have no plans to travel to Norway. there is zero practical use I will get out of this. but maybe that's exactly why I should go learn it, because zero practical use also means significantly less baggage
