really wish there was a way to indicate to 80% of the people I block "I don't hate you and this is not a judgement on your worth as a person or poster, it's just that I can tell that we will very piss each other off/super trigger each other if we ever interact and this is the best way to spare us both the holy war. please continue living your best life"

in general it's also like. sometimes I wish blocking was more... granular? like this would be hell to implement and would have all sorts of nasty social side-effects I'm sure, so I'm not making it an actual feature request. but like, a way to mark certain posts as "people I've blocked are allowed to read and interact with this"

like I typically do not mind people I've blocked using resources I've made! they are for everyone and anyone, regardless of how I feel about you!! but for all other posts it's like, I would rather we keep a respectful distance from each other

in reply to @bazelgeuse-apologist's post:

honestly into the idea of some kind of twitter-circle-esque delineation where you could choose "only certain approved people can interact with/see this post" or "certain blacklisted people and also unlogged in accounts cannot see/interact with this post", which would have the bonus effect of it not being too weird to see a post you can't interact with...... but also I feel this mood a lot as somene who spends way too much of my limited God-given time on this planet trying to invent the Perfect Block System that nobody will ever build b/c it would be so complicated LMAO
