I hope cohost will at some point be able to fill that one internet niche that reddit fills, the one where someone asks for the best garden rocks recommendations or whatever very low-stakes thing, and the comments overflow with 50 people jousting for the honor of their favorite garden rocks. but with less like, having to squint at comments wondering if they were posted by bots

the best feature of reddit was that it is/was full of tiny freak subreddits devoted to freak topics, like the canned sardines enthusiast subreddit, and that allowed for the steady accumulation of freaks who Really Know A Lot About Where To Get The Tastiest Tinned Fish. (it's this place btw). and every day I am more displeased about reddit's willingness to endanger these lil freak ecosystems
