Some of it is just like, I feel like in some ostensibly progressive spaces, there was an over-reaction to gestures vaguely at the intersection of fan culture, misunderstood feminism, and social media's collapsing of all nuance and now anything with a whiff of horny is somehow immediately Suspect™ at best, and Obviously Perverts™.
