okay, okay, actually helpful advice for people new to this.

general stuff:

  • you do NOT have to start over from floor 1 if you die before floor 100. that penalty only applies to floors 101+, which is well and beyond what mogtomes is asking you to do. (also, once you clear floor 50, you can choose to start new runs from there instead of floor 1.)
  • in the beginning, fully explore floors and kill as many enemies as you can in order to get exp. you can chill after you hit max level (60)
  • walk along the EDGES of rooms to avoid triggering traps. the starting room and hallways will always be free of traps (though be careful of layouts where it can be hard to tell the difference between hallways and rooms)
  • do not open silver chests unless you are at full health, they have a small chance to explode and do damage equal to 70% of your max HP, which means they can kill you! (but do open silver chests to power up your aetherpool)
  • if you are a tank or a ranged DPS, you can interrupt mimic Infatuation casts - this keeps them from putting the obnoxious Accursed Pox debuff on you.
  • Pomanders of Rage turn you into a manticore, which lets you one-shot normal enemies as long as there isn't a no knockbacks debuff on the floor. Pomanders of Lust turn you into a succubus with an attack that inflicts Vulnerability Up, and are best used on bosses. You can end a transformation early by right-clicking on the transformation buff icon (controller players may want to make a macro for this).
  • don't use Pomanders of Alteration unless you know what you're doing. or you're with pals and want to troll them a little, as a treat

floorset specific stuff (mechanical spoilers ahead):

  • on floors 21-29, do Not pull multiple enemies unless you know what you're doing. the slimes have an enrage timer and will explode if you don't kill them in time, killing you instantly. (in general, "don't pull multiple enemies unless you know what you're doing" is good advice!)
  • on floor 30, stick to the edges of the arena to bait puddles there, and run to the center of the arena when the boss goes to the center
  • on floor 80, when the boss stands up and begins casting Ecliptic Meteor, you'll want to DPS it as much as possible - Meteor does damage equal to 80% of your max health, and the boss will spam it again and again until you or it is dead.
  • on floor 90, when the boss begins casting Massive Burst, you need to push the blue bomb onto her by attacking it in her direction. when it explodes, it will interrupt the cast.
  • on floor 100, the adds the boss spawns will keep reviving unless you use a Pomander of Resolution to transform yourself and use the special attack on their corpses. (you can also just DPS them down over and over, they do not have much health)
