I think Nathan would turn himself into a pile of sapient holographic cubes on purpose

I am sure not beating the "all of my cis characters have secret trans flavor" allegations huh

my two not-married correspondents who are (allegedly) cis guys

Lukas: feels confined by his flesh, wants to break free by being able to modify every last aspect of it to his exact liking, even in ways that most people would consider alarming, monstrous, and a shameful violation of the natural order
Nathan: feels a fundamental dissociation regarding the concept of Having A Body; in general he would just rather not have a body at all

I am deeply entertained by this and it also brings to mind my too-squishy-to-articulate musings about sometimes the trans is gender specifically and sometimes the trans is transient, transitioning, in the sense of all the other flavors of dissatisfaction one might experience with life-as-is.

I consider it a feature that "is this about gender or is wanting to be a pile of sapient cubes another thing?" does not automatically have an answer to outside viewers. :eggbug-smile-hearts:
