Pilot is retiring Kiri-same from the Iroshizuku line :C We barely got to try it, but it was such a nice ink - gorgeous shading, very well-behaved, and a lovely tone. We were planning on using it as our everyday sketching ink until we heard the news.
Are there any inks like it? We're considering trying Fuyu-syogun, also an Iroshizuku ink, but it's much colder in tone.
(We're not going to buy bottles of Kiri-same to hoard, tempting as it is; we've decided in advance not to buy limited-edition or retiring inks, since our brain would be anxious about whether we were using the inks "correctly" and then we'd never use them at all. It's better that the bottles go to people who will actually use them!)
for those out of the loop, this is the ink that's being retired (Kiri-same aka "Autumn Shower")
it's not very exciting at first glance but it writes so so so well (including in layers! which is why we wanted it for sketching!) it's so crisp yet easy on the eyes and I haven't seen another ink with this lovely warm gray tone augh
